Farmhouse Evanston is a farm-to-table restaurant located in downtown Evanston.  Its goal is to feature fresh food from the Midwest with an ever-changing seasonal menu.  The also have a good list of local beers on tap and offer plenty of wine choices for folks like Theresa.

We arrived around 1pm and were seated immediately, by a friendly hostess.  Theresa loved the rustic look of the place and noticed all the small details put into the décor.  It really does feel a bit like sitting in a farmhouse kitchen.  Food wise, Tom had the fried bologna sandwich and a local dark wheat ale, Ultraviolet (Empirical Brewery) and Theresa had the beer-battered haddock and a glass of chardonnay.  The sandwich comes on sourdough and features cheddar cheese aioli, lettuce, tomato and bread and butter pickles.  It was excellent and made it Tom’s week to join the clean plate club.  The haddock was good but needed a little salt.  Overall, Farmhouse Evanston is very good, and we will come back.
