MingHin never disappoints.  On this visit, we decided to go with soup and appetizers.  As usual, it was Won Ton for Theresa and Hot and Sour for Tom.  Both were good, but Tom promised to try something different next time.

After the soup, we went for a smattering of dishes, including; Crag Rangoon, Salt and Pepper Vegetables, Beef on a Stick and Cucumber Salad.  The beef was excellently marinated and served on wooden skewers.  The flavor was awesome, but we disagreed on whether the beef or the chicken (from our last visit) was the better “on a stick” dish.  Next time we will add shrimp or pork to the contest.  The Crag Rangoon was its usual tasty self and we happily downed it all.  Tom enjoyed the cucumber salad – think slightly pickled raw cucumbers in an Asian chili sauce – but Theresa didn’t much care for it.  As for the Salt and Pepper Vegetables, we both agreed that the tempura-like batter, with a hint if salt and pepper, was a great idea.  It was very good on the carrots, green beans and a mystery vegetable that we could not place, but not so good on the broccoli (the broccoli-to-batter ratio was off) nor the eggplant (a little squishy and slimy).

We washed our meal down with a Tsing Tao for Tom and a “Chardonnay” for Theresa.  Coming to MingHin is always a great experience and we will keep trying new things on the menu.

We both love Chinese food and agree that we don’t get to Chinatown often enough.  We stopped at our favorite place, MingHin.  It’s a great restaurant with a large menu featuring many types of seafood (we couldn’t do that after the aquarium), a large selection of Dim Sum and pretty much any other Cantonese dish you could want.  We settled for Won Ton Soup for Theresa and Hot and Sour soup for Tom.  We accompanied that with some dumplings, Crab Rangoon and chicken on a stick.  Washed down with steaming hot green tea, it was a great meal at a very reasonable price.
